I'm back on it again. I tried it sometime last year and it really works! Atkins is divided into 4 phases. The first phase is 2 weeks long. Although I did not even last 2 weeks the last time, I lost about 2kgs. I only lasted 1 and 1/2 weeks. Tak boleh tahan. I suddenly craved for all sorts of carbs which I've never craved for before. I guess when your body is deprived of it, it starts asking for it.
Going on Atkins can also be very expensive. At work, I found myself having to eat things like Nandos, KFC ( you can have this but without the mash potatoes), lauk only. These are more expensive compared to sandwhiches which I normally have. After a while you'd run out of ideas as to what to eat as well. It would be easier if you planned what you would be having or else you may end up compromising and have something with carbs. After a while it gets easier and you'd realise that there are many things to eat that does not contain carbs. For example, you can have mee bandung without the mee. There are lots of veg and chicken in it. You can have lauk only, without the nasi. You can have yong tau foo, just pick the ones with tau foo and veg, scrambled eggs and sausages, eggs and cheese omelete etc.....
So why am I back at it again? I gained weight lah. I don't want my weight to pile up too high before I do something about it. Then it would be even more difficult to lose it. Admittedly I do not get enough exercise. Got no time and no motivation to do it. Housework is good enough exercise!! Over the weekend I had to clean up the house and do the ironing. It took all day and I sweat through my clothes!
I hope this time around I can last for at least 2 weeks. I plan to lose just 2 kgs. I'm not asking for miracles.

To start off, you can check out this site www.atkins.com. It'll tell you what to do, what to eat and how atkins work. In brief, the plan is to starve your body of carbs so that it starts to burn fat.
It is divided to 4 phases and the first phase should only be 2 week long. You can read about this phase at the website. You should start losing weight as much as 1kg in the first week!! I know of somebody who lost 2kg in 5 days. I lost about 2kg in 1 and 1/2 weeks the last time I did it.
