An embarassing episode

For some weird reason today I was reminded of a really embarrassing episode that happened almost 6 years ago.

I am one who is not fond of visiting designer shops. Not my budget or my lifestyle. One day, I decided to give it a try. I was on my way to the bank during office hours and decided to make a quick detour. With me, I was carrying in my hand my purse, my check book, my handphone and my staff pass.

I decided to have a quick stroll in Feragammo. The whole place was daunting. I felt really out of place and basically did not know where to start. So I did a quick walk around the handbags section and changed my mission quickly when I saw a glimpse of the price tags! So I decided to look at something smaller. Wallets.

So I asked the sales assistance to take out a few interesting ones for me to have a look. I placed all the stuff that I was carrying in my hand on the glass counter so I can inspect more closely the very expensive merchandise. Satisfied I said thank you and got ready to leave. Gathered up my stuff , started to leave. I was wondering why the sales girls were closing in on me. I thought, maybe I forgot to say thank you. So I said my thanks as sweetly and sophisticatedly as I could and headed for the door. One of the sales girls exclaimed, “Mam!” and pointed at what I was holding.

To my horror, I did not realize that when I picked up all my stuff, my purse, my handphone etc… without realising, I had picked up one of the wallets that she took out to show me! They thought I was trying to steal it!!

Malu nyeeeeee!! With muka tebal I said sorry, put the wallet down, and fled from the store!
