Wesak Day

I got up nice and early (on a public holiday!) to follow my Aunt to the temple for Wesak Day. Thought it would be a nice chance to take some pictures and see what people do on Wesak Day at the temple.

It was a very nice sunny morning. We got to Brickfields in good time. We were there early so it was not too crowded, some people were already there doing their prayers. There were lots of people selling flowers, candles and food. The flowers and candles were for prayers.

As my Aunt and grandma went to do their thing, I went around taking pictures and tried not to pass out with all the smoke from the burning josticks!

It was a fun experience!

Later that night, we wanted to catch the parade. Apparently there were going to be floats with lots of lights. However, we got there late. Partly my fault cos I went over to my grandma's late as it was raining. We had just missed the float. We only saw the last float leaving and the ambulance and security trailing behind! Oh well, nevermind... next year.
