Tangkuban Parahu, Bandung, Indonesia

Tangkuban Parahu, Bandung, Indonesia

The holiday in Bandung was, well….. ok la.

Initially, we had planned to go there to play golf as well as go shopping. Then after speaking to many people, everybody said that it is a heaven for shopping. So since our golf bags were too heavy, we decided not to bring them, and well…. Just shop.

When we got there, we headed straight for Dagor, one of the shopping streets. I was….. not that impressed. Yes they do have LOADS of shops, but they really are not that big a deal. Throughout our stay, we went to ALL of the shopping streets. I was a bit disappointed. Maybe my expectations were a bit too high. They are after all, factory outlets. We did buy some stuff, but not as much as I expected to.

We wished we brought our golfing stuff.

But the food there is YUMMY! We ate SO much there. The Sundanese food was to die for. Its basically all deep fried stuff, ulam and sambal and rice. Its all dry with no kuah, but so sedaaaaap. Of course there is the Bak Soh and all sorts of noodle stuff. They eat a lot of noodles there. But we mostly eat in proper restaurants. There were lots of road side food vendors, but we were worried about hygiene. Don’t really want to end up with a tummy ache.

We had the most delicious donuts there! There is a donut place called JCO Donuts and Coffee. They are exactly the same as Big Apple donuts at the Curve. I think it is a Franchise. But JCO is SO much better. The donuts are BURSTING with the creams and fillings. Sedap giler. The ones at Big Apple only seem to have about a teaspoon of donut filling. So disappointing, but they do taste the same.

And Bandung has a lot of con men. You get conned everywhere, especially by the taxi drivers. So that really ruined my mood.

I suppose the best consolation is that I got to spend lots of quality time with hubby. And of course the good food. I would go back for the food.
