Preparing for the race at the starting grid. Very hazy!!!

Linda and Hubby (my hubby)
F1 weekend came and went. I thought of not braving the heat this year, but with some last minute persuasions and much thought, I changed my mind and went. Since I had tickets for the Tower for Race Day, it was difficult to resist.
Hubby gave me 2 Tower tickets, so I gave 1 to a friend. We left KL at about noon and headed for Sepang. As we neared the circuit, a bad jam slowed us down. The jam was as long as a few km before the traffic lights to the circuit. After about 1/2 hour we finally got through and parked.
As usual, the excitement of the race was overwhelming people people milling about, buying merchandise at the Welcome Centre or taking pictures at the various exhibitions there. Colleagues of mine volunteered as the PETRONAS promoters and were stationed at the Sauber exhibit. We met my husband on the way into the Welcome Centre and he walked us to the Tower. On the way, I met lots of friends and colleagues, all burnt from the sun already. My friend, Linda wanted to surprise her husband who was at the Diamond grandstand. He did not know that she had tickets for the race, cos he came straight from an overseas trip. So we stopped by Diamond to meet her hubby, who is also an old friend of my hubby. Actually they both know my hubby long before I did. They were old school friends.
So after we surprised him, we headed for the Tower cos we were starving. We were a bit late, so most of the good stuff was finished. I settled for a hotdog and burger (they were not very large) and Linda had a sandwhich and pizza.
The race started at 3pm, I was really not too bothered. I was not concentrating on what was going on... just enjoying the atmosphere. Linda was really into the race, so she knew what was going on. After an hour, I got bored. So Linda and I decided to take a walk around the Tower. From the Tower you could see both sides of the circuit. Its more airy too. It was really hot where we were sitting because it was really close to the track. Pak Lah arrived at the Tower while we were just about to up the VIP deck. Naturally we were not allowed up. So we lepaked for a while and decided to leave in hopes to avoid the jam.
We made our way back to the welcome centre, stopped by Diamond to say goodbye to Linda;s husband. Bumped into more friends and colleagues. When we got to the Welcome Centre, I took some pictures with my beloved bike, and said hello to the promoters there, who were my colleages. By that time the race just ended. I did not even know who won!
So after some goodbyes and some pictures we left the circuit. Got caught in the jam on the way out. The traffic was diverted to the back exit to KLIA, which bypasses the Bunga Raya VIP terminal.
So that was that. F1 2005, same like every other year for me. As usual, hubby would have to attend the F1 party after the race, and I am banned for it... no wives no girlfriends.
Oh well. I used to go to those things before we were married, before hubby was with PETRONAS Motorsports. It was good..... now, I just stay home and wait for hubby to come home.
Oh well.

fida volunteered kan? took a pix with her, yet to post it on our team's site.
and by the way renault won, remember that name - renault, cuz u r gonna see more podiums finishes and wins from them this year (ehehehe!! ngoh hai renault fanatic maaa!)
Tower tak best lah.... best view is diamond.
Renault huh.... ok lah....
Am not an F1 fan anymore hehe. I just go cos I have tix. Teruk kan!
Lepak at the tower during the inaugural race. Not bad, but probably too corporate for my liking.
Grandstands are OK but they lack heart and soul.
K1 still offers the best seats. You get the view of the starting grid, and the 1st corner.
The only thing that beats K1 is being there in the FIV just outside the track :)
Ishhh orang FIV niiihh....:D
