Hubby is going away to Jakarta this weekend. Bummer. I really hate it when he goes for business trips. But nevertheless, I have the weekend lined up with stuff to do :D
And as always, when hubby has to go away, something goes wrong at home. Thus far, these are the weird things that happened while hubby was away:
- I lost a friends cat whom I was baby sitting. I could not eat for days. We found her in the end “phew”
- I scratched hubby’s car. I was so scared and dreaded telling him. It ruined my whole weekend basically. I told him in the end and he was trying not to be too pissed with me
- I found another cat in my house. I panicked cos I thought I left a door opened somewhere and I was alone then. It turned out that the cat had jumped in from the bathroom window, probably because he knew that Cleo was in the house. They both greeted me at the door when I came home! It was a very pretty Siamese cat though.
- When we were renovating our new house, the contractor buat hal, and my mom was giving me hell.
- I had to go to Cape Town and I was terribly stressed with work and could not manage emotionally while hubby was away. I had to cope with the work problems, get my money sorted out for the trip, pack, get my work documents organized, airline tickets….. I tell you, I hate travels like these. In the end I told my boss, I could not go. Can you beat that!! I did in the end, when the problems were sorted, about 1 month later. And it was a blast!
- Hubby was away in China when I was recovering from my surgery. At that point, all the side effects of my meds were kicking in and I was scared and crying on the phone with hubby everyday.
This time around, my car pulak is having engine problems. Yup… something has to happen when hubby goes away. The head gasket is leaking and the engine is low on oil. The tappets were clicking like crazy! Fortunately, we discovered this before hubby left. If not, I would have been in a state of panic and won’t know what to do. I have not topped up engine oil on my own before! So last night, we went to the petrol station and got some engine oil and hubby topped it up. The tappets are still noisy though, but the oil pressure is back to normal. It was shooting at “high” before that. Can’t send the car to the mechanic due to impending logistical problems, so we’d do it after hubby comes back.
Stress kan! Its so weird that its almost funny. Not so funny when I lost the cat tho!
Meanwhile, things in the office are not looking up at all. We met our new GM for the first time today and … well, his management style does not appeal to me at all. When it has taken 26 years for you to get to GM level, well, there is something wrong with you. To me, he is not “ a go getter”. I think I am planning my exit now. Greener pastures, more travels.

Take care of yourself, regardless, OK Lin. You never know......... then, again, it may just be a coincidence.
