And now back to reality

Tioman was quite a blast. I did not imagine that it would be so beautiful. It’s one of the islands that we’ve been wanting to go for a long time but did not get to do it.

We stayed at the Berjaya. We had planned to play golf so we brought our golf sets. It was not too much of a hassle as I thought it would be. My set is really light, so it helps. Hubby carried all the balls, hehe.

We were so mesmerized by the island. The sea was SO BLUE. Even the water by the jetty was clear and blue. And you could see fish swimming around too. And they were not the regular fish, they were the fish that you get in your salt water aquarium. Just throw in some bread and they swim up! Some were stripped and some were blue.

We played golf 2 mornings straight. Both 9 holes. The view from the first nine was amazing!! It was by the beach. There was one t box where u climb up some stairs and then lo and behold, the t box sits on the cliff over looking the beach and sea! Then you got to t off to the other side of the beach straight onto the green. The beach is the bunker! It was a par 3. I did not take up the challenge. I took it from the apron.

It was only us playing that morning. So we took our time and took pictures and gazed at the deep blue sea. It was heavenly! We should have worn our swim suits underneath or golf attire, because we could have just taken a quick dip!

Later that day, we also went snorkeling. It was our first time. Learning how to breathe with that tube thing and tight goggle over our face was a challenge, but we got the idea in the end. What I saw just totally swept me off my feet. What an experience to see fishes swimming all around you. And they were so colourful too! Blue ones, purple ones, ones with long mouth (nose?), stripped ones, and then a whole school of ikan bilis (I think it was ikan bilis) swum right pass us! Of course there were corals. There were all sorts, sharp ones, round ones, red ones, yellow ones… ones that looks like mushrooms.

The current was really strong, so even though we paddled really hard, we did not go very far. We did not have flippers on cause we thought it would be too awkward. So we had the occasional fish who overtook us and wondered why we were paddling and not getting anywhere! Somehow, despite the crowd of people snorkelling, the fishes below did not seemt to mind. They just carried on with what they were doing and seem unmoved by us.

We spent lots of time just chilling by the beach too. Berjaya had restaurants on the beach, with cute gazebos. The view from the gazebos was just absolutely breathtaking. I just could not take my eyes away. I snapped as many pictures as I could, but the camera just did not do much justice. It just does not look the same in picture than in real life.

It was a short but excellent holiday. The day after we came back, hubby left for UK for another business trip. Lucky devil.

Pictures to be posted soon. Did not have time to download and upload onto flickr yet.
