Affairs and transfers

The hot topic over lunch with the girls the other day was extra marital affairs. So what else’s new. But the punch is different when it involves somebody you know.

We were shocked. We could not comprehend why. As far as we knew, there was nothing wrong with the marriage of each parties. It just happened. I was speechless.

Of another case, the husband has been receiving late night smses. He got caught by the wife and the wife told the girl off. Another one bites the dust.

My hubby gets lots of late night smses too. Am I worried, yes. I related the stories of the affairs to hubby. We now have an understanding that I would sometimes ask who is smsing after office hours. I am not one who would go through my husbands phone and check his messages. Its just not right.

Reality hits hard sometimes.

On a brighter note, I will be transferring to another job. I am not acceptionally over the moon about it, cos I love where I am now. The people here are great and lots of fun! There is not much protocol either. Interactions with the bosses and the upper management is open, free and easy. Its so cool. But I guess, when its time to go, its time to go. My current department is restructuring, and I have to find a home for myself.

My new posting will be at the VP’s office of Petrochemicals Biz, handling JV managements. Its something completely new to me. I’m always up for new challenges and new things. However, I don’t know what damage it does for my CV though. I don’t want to appear “half cooked” in my previous work experiences.

16 September next month I will bid a sad farewell to my colleagues here. I’m really going to miss them terribly. I just need to finish up my project in Sudan and handover whatever to my successor.
