Hong Kong Disneyland!!

We took Ayden for his first ever overseas trip a few months ago. This was in May 2012 and I was 5 months pregnant then. We simply had to squeeze in a holiday before the twins arrived.

Ayden was a gem throughout the trip. He slept well during the short 4 hour flight. We only spent 3 days and 2 nights at Hong Kong Disneyland. It was sufficient just for the the trip to Disney. We bought the 2 day ticket and put up at the Hollywood Hotel, which is just a 10 minute bus ride to Disneyland. Perfect if you have a toddler with you. But even if you don't, I do strongly advise anyone to stay at either Disney hotels as you would tend to leave the park very late and be extremely tired after that.

Ayden's first time on a plane!

Our room at Hollywood Hotel. Very basic but decked with everything Mickey. We arrived in Hong Kong at about 1pm and got to our hotel almost 3pm. We rested for a while and left for Disneyland at about 4pm.

The entrance of Hong Kong Disneyland. It is quite a walk from the bus drop off. Its ok when you arrive, as you are not yet tired. But it seems MILES at the end of the day when you are extremely tired for a long fun day!

When I was 6, my mum took me to Disneyland Anaheim and we had the exact same shot there!

We arrived at Disneyland just in time to catch the parade at 4.30pm. The website provides all the show times so you get to plan ahead your itinerary during your visit. Very handy!

Adventureland! As it was not yet the Hong Kong Summer holidays, the park was not too crowded. So it was comfortable and not too busy. The weather was not too hot either.

The raft that takes us to Tarzan Island

The famous Jungle Cruise ride

What was interesting was that Ayden was always afraid of rides at shopping malls. But during the trip, he literally begged to get onto the Dumbo ride! The queue was 40 minutes long but because he was so adamant, we queued anyway. And he loved it! And he still remembers it when we got home!

The Lion King show. Very awesome!

Of course a photo session with Mickey! It was only a 5 minute queue as we caught them at Fantasy Land and not Main Street. The queue at Main Street was soooo long! So that was a tip!

Goofy!

Cinderella Castle and Cinderella herself of course :P

Toy Storyland. We did not get on any rides here as Ayden was taking his nap then

The iconic Small World. I remember this so well when I was in the US. Then we had to queue for almost 2 hours. Here we walked right in. So it is important to go during off peak! And off peak is before Hong Kong's summer holidays

This coke flavoured slush was soooo yummy on a hot hot day!

We ended our Disney trip with a show from Mickey. Do catch all these shows as it is only half hour long but very very good!

It was all in all a fantastic trip. Short but sufficient. 2 days at Disneyland is just nice. I would not recommend to get it all done in a day. Its too rushed and the kids won't have fun. Food is aplenty inside Disneyland. There are at least 2 restaurants in every park. And even though there are lots of people, service is fast and efficient. The only thing was that food was quite pricey. Almost RM35 per pax everytime. Unfortunately no outside food is allowed. Toilets are aplenty too and always clean and usable. Very child friendly indeed.

Eating at Hollywood Hotel is a breeze too. They have a few choices if restaurants as well as a diner. So even though you are back late from Disneyland (late is say 9pm after fireworks) you can still get something to eat at the diner.
